Our search for a warm winter
We spent a week getting the roadhouse packed for our winter stay in Florida. It's amazing how much "stuff" it can hold! We hit the road on Friday Nov. 28th. The morning was cold, but clear. We drove to Nashville before stopping. It was a long day of driving but we wanted to get to some warmer weather so we could dewinterize the RH. Abby, of course, was spooked, but not as bad as other times. The weather has held pretty good for travel. The second night was spent in Coldwater, Mississippi. On the third day we arrived at Timberlake Rv Park in Madison, Ms. Timberlake is near Jackson, Miss. and on the Barnett Reservoir. It has been quite chilly, high 40's to mid 50's during the day and one night it did dip to 29 degrees. We have been enjoying our visit with our friends that we had met while in Texas. They have been showing us the sites and introduced us to turnip greens and Mississippi catfish! We have really enjoyed our stay, but it's time to put the wheels in motion. We will be leaving tomorrow (Thursday) for Gulf Shores, Alabama. Then on to the Destin, Florida area to see some of the white sand beaches on the Gulf. We're planning to be in central Florida Monday the 8th.
