San Antonio

Here we are in San Antonio. We arrived on Saturday afternoon around 4 p.m. It was very warm here also--90 degrees! Yesterday (Sunday) we took an all day tour. We left at 8:30 and got back to the MH at 5:30. We went to the Japanese Sunken Gardens, took a riverboat ride, saw the movie Alamo at IMAX, then visited the Alamo, two missions and the Marketplace. It was a full day, but extremely interesting. There is certainly a lot of history in this city.

Today we were on our own. We took a city bus back down to the Riverwalk and wandered around there. We visited a church which contained a crypt with the ashes of some of the men that died at the Alamo. The altar in the church was beautiful and, of course, the church itself is very old.

Now it's time to pack up and move on tomorrow morning. We are headed to Beaumont, Texas. That will be our final stop in Texas and then it will be on to Louisiana. There are thunderstorms in the forecast for tonight and possibly tomorrow.
