Time is getting short

It’s been a fairly quiet week here. Spring is arriving here in south Texas. The citrus trees were full of fruit when we arrived and now they are empty and full of blooms. The grapefruit and orange blossoms smell so nice when we walk by the trees. The weather has been great. Lots of sun ,and warm temperatures.

Monday was a pretty laid back day. I got a great pedicure and a manicure at a shop not far from here. It had only been open for three weeks and everything was so nice and clean. Good to see that all the instruments came out of an autoclave! Much different from the last pedicure in Mexico!!!

On Tuesday we headed to Edinburg, Texas to the Museum of South Texas History. It was a very nice experience. The exhibits start with the mammoth and the early Indians (1000 AD). Then on to the 17th century and into the 20th century. There was a steamboat display and then came the trains when steamboats could no longer navigate the Rio Grande. Everything was very well displayed and we learned a lot about this area. There was even an original jail complete with a hangman’s noose. There had been one fellow whose life was ended via that noose! The museum didn’t allow flash or tripod, so some of the photos, especially the placards are blurred. All in all, it was a very nice day. We also stopped at Sam’s and Walmart for some needed supplies. It’s amazing how fast the days go by.

We enjoyed temps in the 80’s, then 94 on Thursday . Another front came thru taking us down to mid forties, and only expected to be mid 60’s for Friday. Our to do list is getting shorter, as we near departure time. The photos of Victoria Palms show that spring is underway . The mesquite trees now have leaves, and giving us some shade in the afternoon.
We also went to a car show in Mission , Texas. There were some very nice cars and some definitely had a Mexican flare. The place was packed with cars and people. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
