Camp Florida

Dec 11 a storm came thru keeping us in the roadhouse. Carol used our washer/dryer with success. She has the place looking like Christmas. We did have a tornado watch till noon, with lots of rain. The temps will be in the 70's with Thursday morning dipping to mid 40's. This past week has been busy sight seeing, and getting our house in order. The neighbors in our area are some of the nicest folks you would want to meet. While getting set up when we first got here, three ladies came over to introduce themselves, and invite us to join them for happy hour. Now each day,we all converge at someones lot for social time which normally starts around 3:30 to 5. Then it's time to fix some dinner. Carol has been wanting a clothes line so I copied Ed and Diane's clothes line rack. Off to the hardware store purchasing lots of PVC and clothes line. It fits nicely on the ladder on the back of the motor home and collapses for traveling.

We had a pleasant suprize phone call from our friends from Ohio, Mike and Carol Zielinski. They were staying in Fort Myers Beach with Bob and Judy McMahon from Ohio. We met them at a place called the Captains Table on the Gulf in Punta Gorda. The atmosphere and the food was great! Plus we had a nice visit. It seems weird that we have to drive 1400 miles to get together with friends!

We will be posting pictures of the murals in Lake Placid as we go. Each mural has different hidden messages, so we plan to take our time to take it in. Lake Placid is also the caladium capital of the world, but we have yet to see any.

The weather has been great, so far 70's 80's. We have been grilling out on our new Weber Q that the kids gave us for Christmas. The fresh citrus is also a nice treat! We are attempting to grow a tomato plant in a pot on our patio. Can't wait to see if this "Florida" tomato tastes different from ours at home. We have dirt left over so Carol wants some potted plants. Might as well have flowers to make this a "home".
Today (Dec 18th) will be in the low 80's. We are going to the pool after lunch.
